Mockingbird Bar & Restaurant
My lovely mother brought me here for my birthday a few weeks ago, and it was divine. First of all, I don't think there is a road you can take to get here that isn't beautiful. Bantam is a picturesque little town on the edge of a lake, teeming with hidden gems and beautiful forest scenery. Our drive up was very peaceful, and a great way to start the evening.
The interior of Mockingbird is light, airy and spacious. They have a large bar, white topped tables, and lots of windows. We were seated right next to a window where we could see families going to get ice cream at Arethusa Dairy. We started of with two glasses of Prosecco to celebrate.
The menu is a wonderful mix of unexpected flavors. Our server brought us a bread basket, which we actually took home with us because it was so good! We decided to start with the Falafel Fritters and a special made up of avocado and grapefruit. Both were excellent. I ordered the Black Pearl Salmon Burger and Mom went with the Confit de Poulet. We were both satisfied, although I could only finish half of my burger. We ended with their home-made carrot cake with ginger ice cream which was amazing and a coffee.
Our server was very kind, attentive, and personable. I would highly recommend checking this place out for dinner with friends, a date, or a special occasion. It is on the more expensive side, but wasn't outrageous, and the food coupled with the atmosphere and service definitely make it worth it!
